Unionist Voice editor Jamie Bryson was this morning arrested by the PSNI in connection with the unlicensed supply of door supervisors. Despite the PSNI and SIA investigators being informed they had completely misunderstood the matters at hand, they told Mr Bryson they didn’t care and instead proceeded to simply use this excuse to seize a plethora of journalistic notebooks and even confidential notes from consultations between Mr Bryson and his legal representative.
PSNI have also sought to gag Mr Bryson and decree he is not allowed to speak to ANYONE about what happened today, this despite the PSNI’s Bobby Singleton briefing journalists and releasing an untrue smear statement to try and set a public narrative.
Mr Bryson refused to sign or be bound by the PSNI conditions, and given they had no evidence to charge him, they were stuck in a legally awkward situation. They had to resort to forcing Mr Bryson- who demanded he brought before a judge for unlawful detention- to leave the station in the bizarre and precedent setting situation whereby they had to log on their computer that Mr Bryson had refused to accept bail and officers had to record that he had made clear he would not be bound by any of the conditions.
In this video Mr Bryson outlines the outrageous events of today, in defiance of illegal PSNI attempts to gag him, and provides all the relevant documentation from today’s events.
